Day 1: Villa Vista, Windhoek, Namibia

Fly into the capital city of Namibia, Windhoek, a vibrant and lively, built up city, with a range of restaurants to dine in. Including your first chance to try the local game. Whether you chose a Toyota Fortuna or a Golf Ford Ranger, your car, map, emergency phone and sat nav, will be delivered to your lodge. A helpful information pack with directions (it is easy to navigate through Namibia) for your trip so you are ready to set off in the morning.
It is a good idea before you leave Windhoek to go to a supermarket in town and fill up on water and car snacks.

Day 2: Desert Homestead Lodge, Sossusvlei, Namibia

Set within the Namib Nature Reserve, it is an excellent place to visit the Namib-Nankluft National Park and see the beautiful landscape or enjoy the magical night sky. From here you can take a day trip to the Sossusvlei, its spectacular red star shaped dunes, for the more energetic you can take on the climb of Duner 45 of Big Daddy. Visit the historic Deadvlei, an expanse of white clay, and skeleton trees that are carbon dated to 500-600 years old stay in the desert, only remaining due to the lack of water. Self drive through the part, or take a guided tour run by the Desert Outpost Lodge.

Day 4: Atlantik Sicht, Swakopmund, Namibia

On the Atlantic coast of Namibia past the Namib Desert is Swakopmund, a beach side resort. Unlike many other resorts Swakopmund for much of the year is surrounded by a salt fog, With excellent seafood and so much to do, it is one of the few places on this route which offers a built up town. Here you can try quad biking or sandboarding on the edge of the desert, or head to Walvis Bay and go kayaking with seals, see the flamingos and wild dogs along the salt plains.

Day 6: Camp Kipwe, Twyfelfontein, Namibia

Beautiful rock formations across the Aba Huab Valley, a place hidden in the mountains, to enjoy the remoteness, views and relax by the swimming pool, a great place to spend your afternoons when back from a morning excursion. Each individual bungalow has an en-suite bathroom and private veranda. Here you can visit the Bushman engravings and drawings, learn about the Damara people, visit Burnt Mountain, go elephant trekking to find the desert elephants.

Day 8:Hobatere Lodge, Hobatere, Namibia

This is a fantastic lodge located 65km north of the Etosha National Park, a great stop over to break up the journey. Set within its own park the lodge runs its own private game drives to give you a taste of Safari in Namibia. Famous for nocturnal animals you can see the cape foc, aardvark, bat-eared fox and aardwolf. Part of the Khoadi Conservationary, benefiting the local community.

Day 9: Ongava Lodge, Okaukuejo, Namibia

Set on the border of the Etosha National Park, by the Andersson Gate, is in a fantastic location and hosts its own private game reserve. With luxurious accommodation and outdoor dining overlooking a watering hole. Here you have the chance to see elephants, lions, leopards, cheetah, giraffe, zebra and wildebeest. From here you can take a guided tour or self-drive through the Etosha National Park. The gates open at sunrise and close at sunset, take care whilst driving and some of the terrain is tricky and you may have animals crossing the roads. Spend a full day in the park and enjoy the surroundings, there are specific points where you may stop, get petrol or have lunch within the park.

Day 11: Mushara Bush Camp, Etosha National Park, Namibia

One of the most luxurious places to stay on the Eastern side of the Etosha National Park. The Mushara Collection is spread along the East and only 8 km from the entrance to the park, enabling a different viewing experience of the park and a change to see many more animals on safari. The Camp offers game drives, if you haven’t seem as many of the big game as you were hoping to it is an excellent option.

Day 12: Okonjima Plains Camp, Otijwarongo, Namibia

Heading into the Waterberg Plateau, this gives you a chance to see even more of Namibia’s spectacular scenery. The Okonjima Plains Camp is an Africat Foundation, working with local farmers and the public to protect the big cats of Nambia. The camp is set high in the Waterberg Plateau and is an incredible place to watch the sun go down.
